GUIDED TOUR OF THAME
Thursday 13th June
Join us for a guided tour of some of the beautiful and historic town of Thame. Led by an experienced guide from Thame Museum it will take us around the town showing us the important places and buildings.
We are planning to use service buses to get there (bus passes are valid) leaving LB on the 150 at 09:05 to Aylesbury to catch the 280 from Aylesbury arriving in Thame at about 10:30. There will be opportunities for a coffee stop and also for lunch either bring your own or use one of the many cafes/pubs in the town. After lunch we plan to walk across the fields to Haddenham (weather and ground condition permitting) to pick up the 280 back to Aylesbury.
If you have questions about the trip please call Julian (07770 344914) or talk to him during a walk.
The cost for this is £5 to be paid in full before Friday 31st May 2019. To make the trip viable we need 8 participants minimum so please book asap. Send booking form to Julian Chritchlow.
THE NEW KING’S CROSS AND ISLINGTON WALK
Saturday 1st June
Join Mike and Helen on a six mile walk through the exciting new King’s Cross Development, where there is a mix of new and restored old industrial buildings and structures set in squares and parks on a 67 acre site.
From there we will explore Barnsbury and it’s beautiful squares. Our walk will continue to old Canonbury and the New River before arriving at Camden
Passage and Upper Street before returning back by bus to Euston.
See the inspiration for an object that has been on our streets for 90 years. Why Upper Street, Islington is called Upper Street and the former home of Tony Blair. No, it is not Pentonville Prison but we might have a glance at that forbidding place, as well.
Meet at Leighton Buzzard Station 08.30 for the 08.54 train to Euston. £20.10 return or £13.25 return with railcard per person. There will be coffee stops and a pub stop. Please bring packed lunch.
LONDON BLIND CLUB WALK
Sunday 23rd June 2019
If you can, please support The London Blind Club. They are a great group of people who enjoy walking. This would not be possible, if clubs like ours could not help them. Last year we had a number of walkers turn-up, it would be good if we could have some more helpers this year. If you have any family members who can come along and help, feel free to bring them. We will meet the London Blind Club at Leighton Buzzard Railway Station at 10.20 am approx. Walk will start from here. If you can help, please let Tracey or Dom know on 01525 374429 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
Saturday 27th July
Leighton Buzzard Ramblers will again have a stall at the Leighton-Linslade Canal Festival. We are looking for volunteers to help man the stall. This is not an onerous task. It involves chatting with members of the public and giving out printed information. If you are able to help please contact Andrea
